Joan Francesc Alonso

Biography

Joan F. Alonso was born in Ripoll in 1979. He received the Telecommunication Engineer Degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2002 and the Master in Bioengineering Degree from the same university in 2004.

He worked as a research assistant from 2004 to 2007 at the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre (CREB), and as a researcher from 2008 to 2009 at the Biomedical Research Networking Center in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN) of the Carlos III Health Institute.

In 2011 he obtained his PhD degree on Biomedical Engineering from the UPC, and at present he works as a Teaching Assistant at the Automatic Control Department (ESAII). His research interests include the analisys of the interactions between biological signals and systems, with application to myographic (EMG and MMG) and encephalographic (EEG and MEG) signals.

Teaching

He has taught subjects on Automatics, Control and Industrial Informatics at the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSEIB), the School of Engineering of Vilanova i la Geltrú (EPSEVG), the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona and the College of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (EUETIB).

Currently, he teaches Biomedical Signal and Image Processing at the College of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (EUETIB).
